Primary Election Day

Tomorrow is the primary election.  The day voters not only will choose the candidate for whom they will support in November’s general election, but also the candidate who won the voters respect in this campaign season.  I for one, could not be more proud of the campaign my father ran.  When it would have been so easy to lower his morals and standards to a level where certain others seemed to be so comfortable, he took the high road.  When his opponent was bombarding voters with daily propaganda, he respectfully declined to do so.   Time and time again he insisted that all of his supporters followed proper campaign ediquette and most importantly he led by example.

At the polls tomorrow, it is my hope that the voters will have seen through all the dirty tricks and remember what is real.  Mayor DeReamer is an honest, hardworking, citizen who is passionate about moving the city of Greenfield forward.  Let’s show him our support and gratitude for the work he has done the past three years and vote for him at the polls tomorrow.

Getting Ready For The Debate

April 22, 2010

Greenfield Public Library, 4:30pm

Tonight is the big debate between my father and his opponent in this primary election.  It will without a doubt, demonstrate the differences between the two candidates.   My father, Mayor DeReamer, will have a chance to remind the public of his accomplishments these past three years and hopefully get the opportunity to clear up some inaccuracies that have been reported.

A few of his most proud accomplishments are the economic development Greenfield has enjoyed despite the recession, street and traffic improvements, and animal managment improvments.   I was just telling my mother that I remember trying to ride my bike to McDonald’s and being scared out of my mind once I reached State Road 9.  It seemed like McDonald’s was just up the street, but when you’re acutally riding your bike it is much further away than a fourteen-year-old brain realizes.  No, my mother did not know I was riding my bike down a busy street, and yes I got in trouble for doing so :)  Fast forward to 2010 and voila!  Sidewalks!  Not to mention the new roundabouts.  Another memory of my former life growing up in Greenfield was the tremendous back up from the intersection at Broadway and McKenzie to the high school at 3pm.  Today’s teens have no idea how great they have it now.  When school lets out they do not have to sit in traffic for ten minutes just trying to get a block away from school!  Who needs the frustration?  They’re tired, blood sugar is low, and they just want to get out of there.  Kuddos for the roundabouts, Mayor!!

Be sure to attend the debate tonight to hear about the above topics and all of the great things happening in Greenfield.   The agenda should also include the  Mayor’s plans for future improvements to the city.  Let’s re-elect Mayor DeReamer!!

A Daughter’s Perspective

Wednesday, April 20, 2011

As an enthusiastic supporter of our Mayor, I reached out to Mayor DeReamer and requested permission to write a blog on his behalf.   My hope is to shed light on his plans for Greenfield’s future and remind us all of the incredible job he has done thus far.    I will also post daily updates on what is happening on the campaign trail

Here is just a little about me.  I was born and raised in Greenfield and remember back when there was nothing standing between McDonalds and Burger King (it was actually Burger Chef back then).   Like many of you I have seen Greenfield grow tremendously over the years.  I wanted to write this blog because I have known Mayor DeReamer for thirty-two years and I know first hand what a hard-working man of integrity he is.   I know that his normal work week is closer to sixty hours, as opposed to forty, I know that he finds a solution to every problem that he is faced with, and I know that he does not quit until the job is done.  Oh, and did I mention I am also his daughter?

Stay tuned for what is REALLY happening in Greenfield.  My sister, Khristina, and I will keep you up to date.  I think you will find it very interesting….
