Starting with an existing animal shelter facility on January 1, 2008, that was not acceptable …
- clogged drains
- washer/dryer not working
- fans inoperable
- light fixtures broken
- water sprayer not functioning
- electrical wiring exposed with dead mice still attached to the wiring, and
- a urine smell unbearable for animals or humans to work in.
ANIMAL MANAGEMENT is now a great facility of which the city, our employees, animal lovers and the public are very proud. Dogs are now separated from cats in their own building to reduce the spreading of diseases. We have reduced the euthanization rate from over 60% to fewer than 30% in 2010. We have a very professional, concerned, caring staff that is responsible for all of Hancock County.
Every Home Needs A Harvey
We are doing our best to train the dogs we have at Animal Management so that they will have a better chance of being adopted. This training has helped us reduce our euthanasia rate from 60% to less than 30%. Please enjoy the below video on how Greenfield is using modern technology to train our dogs.
